A Snapshot of your day :

As an Energy Market Analyst, you will work within our innovative Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics (ED&AA) unit at Siemens Energy, contributing to projects that significantly impact the energy industry. Your role is based in Barcelona at Siemens Energy's #DigiHubBarcelona, a key data hub for the company.

At #DigiHubBarcelona, we utilize consultative sales methodologies to enable our sales teams in selling digital transformation and energy transition solutions through a customer-centric approach. You will collaborate with our Prescriptive Marketing Team, leveraging proprietary and public data analytics to identify market opportunities and assist our clients in navigating market challenges. Your responsibilities include defining key assumptions for cost, regulatory, and demand factors, and supporting the development of long-term outlooks for power and fuel markets across Europe and parts of the Middle East.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Translate market trends into assumption scenarios for major European and Middle Eastern power markets.

Develop and refine fundamental electricity market forecasts in collaboration with analysts and modelers, with proficiency in forecasting software like Plexos or Aurora being a plus.

Enhance market models and provide data-driven recommendations.

Create insightful visualizations of model results for clients.

Support business case evaluations and identify underperforming assets to optimize dispatch and value propositions.

Present insights to local and regional sales teams, translating complex data into clear narratives.

What You Bring / Skills, Capabilities

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, IT, or Natural Sciences.

Experience in consulting, finance, trading, or energy markets is highly desirable.

Strong interest in European power markets and understanding of market dynamics.

Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis, with attention to detail and MS Excel skills.

Data visualization skills (PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau) and ability to communicate insights effectively.

  • Fluent in English;
  • additional languages are a plus.

    Nice to have :

    Experience with Snowflake, programming skills (Python, Pandas), and understanding of cloud development processes.
