ABB is seeking an Electrical/Industrial Engineer to support PV and BESS projects globally from San Fernando de Henares (Madrid). You will develop grid models (PSCAD/PSSE/DIgSILENT), ensure grid code compliance, and provide technical support through pre- and post-sales activities.

You should bring 3+ years in renewables, strong English, and hands-on PSCAD experience to drive real impact across international projects.

Formación

• Electrical or Industrial Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in renewable energy.
• Advanced English (C1) proficiency.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems and grid code compliance.
• Experience in analysis, diagnosis and problem solving on complex systems.
• Innovative mindset with ownership and drive for improvement.
• Full competence on PSCAD user model development.
• Experience with PSS/E and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop grid models for multi-megawatt converters and PPC in PSCAD, PSSE and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Monitor grid codes to identify new requirements for future developments.
• Conduct grid integration studies for PV & BESS projects.
• Correlate converter and PPC models with HiL/testbench results.
• Generate technical notes on grid code compliance for power converters.
• Assist in parametrization of PV & BESS plant converters and PPCs.
• Provide pre-sales support on plant dimensioning and customer queries.
• Offer technical support to customers, consultants, and grid operators.
• Support after-sales activities related to models, grid code compliance.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Participate in Product Development and Project Support for PV & BESS projects all around the world.

Location: San Fernando de Henares, Madrid (not mandatory)

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

• Grid model development of multi-megawatt 3-phase converters and Power Plant Controllers in PSCAD, PSSE and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory software.
• Grid code surveillance to identify new requirements that will launch new developments.
• Grid integration studies of PV & BESS projects to confirm correct dimensioning and grid code compliance.
• Converter and PPC model correlations with testbench and HiL results.
• Technical notes generation with the grid code compliance analysis of power converters and PPCs.
• Support on converters and PPCs parametrization of PV & BESS plants.
• Pre-sales support on PV & BESS plant dimensioning and technical questions from customers.
• Sales support with customers.
• Technical support for customers, consultants, and grid operators’ queries.
• After-sales support in relation to models, grid code compliance and operational limits.

Qualifications for the Role

• Electrical Engineer/Industrial Engineer
• 3 years of experience in renewable energy industry.
• Advanced level of English (C1)
• Knowledge of electrical power systems and grid code compliance.
• Experience in analysis, diagnosis and problem solving on complex systems.
• Mindset to innovate, take ownership, drive improvement.
• Full competence on PSCAD user model development
• Nice to have user model development competences on PSS/E and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
