Greenvolt Power Spain is seeking a Grid Connection Engineer to drive the development, design and delivery of grid interconnection solutions for utility-scale renewables. You will ensure regulatory compliance, technical feasibility, and cost-effectiveness across greenfield projects and acquisitions.

The successful candidate will interface with grid operators, lead interconnection design and permitting activities, and contribute to technical due diligence processes for project success.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• Experience in grid connection/interconnection engineering, preferably renewables.
• Experience with TSOs/DSOs and utility interfaces.
• Proficiency in power system studies (RMS/ EMT, static and dynamic).
• Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental constraints.
• Familiarity with Digsilent PowerFactory, PSCAD and power systems simulations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate grid connection solutions against regulatory requirements, grid codes, and permitting conditions.
• Review all technical documentation and permits for grid interconnection infrastructure.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Follow-up on grid interconnection activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary interface with TSOs/DSOs.
• Participate in negotiations of grid connection agreements with utilities.
• Review/design interconnection infrastructure including substations and lines.
• Ensure designs comply with grid codes, standards, and permitting constraints.
• Coordinate preparation of technical studies and documentation.
• Review work by external consultants and contractors.
• Analyze feasibility, power flow/short-circuit, and stability studies.

This role focuses on the development, design, and delivery of grid interconnection solutions, ensuring technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness across greenfield projects and acquisitions.

The successful candidate will act as a key interface with grid operators (TSOs/DSOs), lead interconnection design and permitting activities, and contribute to technical due diligence processes.

Key accountabilities

• Evaluate thecompliance of grid connection solutionswith Regulatory requirements, Grid codes and Environmental andpermittingconditions
• Review alltechnical documentation and permitsrelated to grid interconnection infrastructure.
• Identifytechnical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Follow-up on allgrid interconnection activitiesduring the project lifecycle
• Act as theprimary interface with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs).
• Participate in and supportnegotiations of grid connection agreementswith utilities.
• Review and guide theconceptual and basic design of interconnection infrastructure, including Substations, Overhead and underground lines
• Ensure designscomply withNational grid codes, Utility standards andEnvironmental andpermittingconstraints
• Follow-up on thepermitting processfor interconnection facilities.
• Coordinate and oversee the preparation oftechnical studies and documentation.
• Review and supervise work delivered byexternal engineering consultants and contractors.
• Analyse and interpretutility studies, including:
  • Feasibility studies
  • Power flow and short circuit studies
  • Stability and system impact studies
• Monitor and assessutility network expansion plansfor project alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in grid connection / interconnection engineering, preferably in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage).
• Experience working with TSOs/DSOs and utility interfaces.
• Proven exposure to utility-scale infrastructure projects.
• Power systems analysis
• Grid codes and connection requirements
• Substation and transmission line design
• Familiarity with power system studies (RMS and EMT, static and dynamic simulations).
• Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental constraints.
• Knowledge of Digsilent Power Factory, PSCAD and power systems simulation softwares
• Knowledge on Microsoft Office tools including MS Project.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and external contractors.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
