The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is looking for a Grid Delivery Manager to own the delivery of large-scale critical HV / MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines. If you like to leverage your technical understanding of critical substation projects including cables and overhead lines from design through the energization phase, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardize processes, develop tools for delivery executions, support financial budgeting, and act as the point of contact between AWS and electricity utilities.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities

  1. Communicate with senior and VP stakeholders to deliver complex projects across diverse teams to tight timelines.
  2. Provide weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director, and vice president level.
  3. Drive the grid infrastructure delivery program.
  4. Standardize processes and develop tools for delivery executions.
  5. Support financial budgeting and act as the point of contact between AWS and electricity utilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction, or related field.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  3. 8+ years of experience leading, influencing, and partnering with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-voltage (HV) grid infrastructure projects (substations, overhead lines, underground cables) under tight deadlines.
  4. 5+ years of experience working with Utilities with a strong understanding of Utility grid interconnection requirements and Utility culture.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of HV / MV electrical safety standards & protocols.
  6. Professional communication skills in English and Italian or German.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s Degree (MBA / MS) preferred.
  2. Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
  3. Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
  4. Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
  5. Ability to converse in Spanish / French is advantageous.
