Job summary

Arup in Madrid invites you to shape a safer built environment as a Fire Safety Trainee. You will work with experienced fire engineers and apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges, developing technical skills and learning fire safety principles.

This graduate program offers exposure to fire modelling tools like FDS and LS-DYNA, drawings, reports, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Ideal candidates are near graduation in Engineering or Architecture and fluent in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and apply new concepts.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of fire safety strategies with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with performance-based fire engineering studies, including calculations and modelling of fire/smoke behavior, evacuation and structural response to fire.
• Support fire safety reviews and inspections of buildings and infrastructure, including reviewing drawings and contributing to technical reports.
• Assist with preparation of drawings, presentations and technical documentation, with exposure to fire protection systems design.
