WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Architect, build and maintain systems responsible for financial exam reporting which directly integrate with blockchain technology;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement elegant solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and the company’s overarching strategy;
• Integrate with blockchain technologies and protocols, emphasizing secure connections, data flow, and adaptability to the evolving needs of the business;
• Continuously stay updated with the latest trends in backend and blockchain development, ensuring Bastion is using optimal technology;
• Establish a scalable architecture to support current business needs, while remaining adaptable to future customer demands and market trends.

MUST HAVES

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong coding skills in core backend languages (e.g., Python, Scala, Go, or TypeScript)
• Experience with databases such as Snowflake and Postgres
• Proven ability to build compliance tooling in fast-paced environments, especially in fintech or blockchain
• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR) and their impact on tech and ops
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, legal, risk, ops) to ship compliance-focused solutions
• Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable, robust backend systems
• Customer-centric approach and strong execution mindset

NICE TO HAVES

• Prior experience in the blockchain space, especially involving cross-border payments or financial reporting
• Familiarity with blockchain protocols and integrations
• Background working in growth-stage startups or on zero-to-one initiatives
