Job Summary :

As a backend developer in Magic, you will be part of the core team driving the development of our Gamification, Loyalty, Messaging, and Content Management Systems. You will collaborate with other skilled developers to realize our product vision, introduce new features, fix bugs, and implement technical improvements.

Role Responsibilities : Technical responsibilities

• Identify and implement technology trends supporting the future success of the business.
• Ensure teams follow coding standards and processes.
• Maintain high quality in all deliverables aligned with business priorities.
• Monitor all software development activities.
• Ensure best practices for scalable, high-quality software and product delivery.
• Maintain and improve various layers of the backend : code, tools, tests, pipelines, interacting with DevOps and Platform departments.
• Develop knowledge of Magic backend architecture to propose improvements, add new functionalities, and optimize current systems.
• Maintain and enhance QA tools and processes.

Leadership responsibilities

• Maintain strong working relationships across the department.
• Ensure effective internal communication within the Tech department.
• Align with the company vision and cascade the tech vision using the OKRs system.
• Promote best engineering practices and ensure Agile methodologies are followed.
• Understand the organization’s business model, products, services, and solutions.
• Adapt flexibly to meet partner and internal requirements.
• Visualize and plan steps to achieve goals and foster future success.

Required Skills and Technologies

• Proficiency in Go programming language.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar databases.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving and performance troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Scrum / Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and frontend tooling.
