Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer for the Transformers unit. You will lead supplier qualification, audits, and parts approvals while driving continuous improvement across a global supplier base.

Responsibilities include leading SAP Ariba assessments, implementing corrective actions, and coordinating supplier performance evaluations. International travel is required to engage suppliers and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance and supplier development in metal fabrication/transformer components or similar industries.
• Knowledge of heat treatment and surface protection processes; familiarity with ISO standards and external auditor certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and on-site audits to ensure compliance and capability.
• Implement improvement actions based on audit findings and process gaps.
• Oversee global parts approval to meet technical and operational requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance indicators and drive annual supplier evaluations.
• Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery with cross-functional teams.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for escalated non-conformities.
• Drive global continuous improvement in supplier management processes and sustainability alignment.
