A leading company in renewable energy inspection is seeking a Sales Director to manage global sales. This role requires experience in selling to wind turbine operators and OEMs, with a strong focus on new business acquisition. Ideal candidates have over 5 years of business development experience. The position is remote and involves travel across Europe and North America.

Wind Inspection (UAV / Robotics)

Airbotics Talent are working with a global leader in the Wind inspection space, utilizing drones & robotics to support the maintenance and growth of the renewables market. They are now looking to recruit a Sales Director to manage their global business with experience selling in to turbine operators, owners and OEMs. Candidates can be based anywhere in the EU or UK & Ireland, with the ability to work from home and travel to customers in Europe and North America when required.

The Role

This role is critical in ensuring the continued year on year growth of the sales pipeline in a market that has seen a significant increase in demand. This role is very much hunter focused, with the aim of identifying and closing new turbine owner and OEM customers. You will be responsible for the full sales cycle (cradle to grave), from market mapping, lead generation, RFI, RFP, RFQ, negotiation and contract signature. Whilst this position is initially a high impact standalone role, the expectation is to grow a high performing global team in the near future.

The Person

It is essential candidates have either :

  • Experience selling products or services in to wind turbine operators, owners or OEMs
  • Experience selling UAV inspection or data collection services services into broader renewables or critical infrastructure markets

Unfortunately candidates without either of the above cannot be considered for this role.

The ideal candidate will also have :

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a high impact Business Development or Sales leadership role
  • A "hunter" profile and be motivated to identify and secure new business
  • A track record of increasing sales through new customer acquisition
  • Experience selling drones or robots specifically for data collection or inspection purposes is an advantage but not essential
  • Flexibility to travel to customer locations across Europe and the US and take part in internal calls with counterparts in other time zones
