Job Title: Global Operational Excellence Manager

Location: Barcelona, Spain (hybrid)

Job Description

As Global Operational Excellence Manager you will:

  • Support the transformation of Galderma to a mature continuous improvement/problem solving organization e.g., implementing the fundamentals, problem solving, tiered accountability etc.
  • Lead and support critical complex global projects and activities across sites and regions ensuring value is defined across the end-to-end value stream.
  • Accelerate value leverage by using statistical approaches, embedding a mindset of data capture and data driven decision making in collaboration with business and functional teams.
  • Drive ongoing review, identification, and execution of global productivity initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders to drive value for our customers and business.
  • Increase global capability of the leadership and Operational Excellence teams, through the development and delivery of relevant training, methodologies, coaching and implementing standards.
  • Accelerate value leverage through best practice sharing through communities and networks.
  • Drive ongoing review and definition of Transformation through strategic process e.g., Hoshin Kanri.

The role reports to Global Head Operational Excellence

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, development and implementation of our global lean supply and manufacturing programs.
  • Knowledge of complex process mapping across complex end to end supply chains.
  • Develop and implement global Galderma standards.
  • Promote knowledge management, best practice sharing and adoption across teams globally.
  • Support key stakeholders across the end-to-end Value stream to assess the flow of value from suppliers to customers and identify targeted improvement opportunities.
  • Lead improvement initiatives working with key stakeholders to shape, manage, implement, and sustain improvements.
  • Support key stakeholders to track their improvement initiatives to achieve their productivity targets.
  • Build improvement capability, focused on delivering value to our customers in the most productive way, by teaching, coaching, mentoring, and supporting employees and teams to develop their Operational Excellence skills and enable them to use improvement techniques on their own.
  • Promote the use of Lean Six Sigma and other relevant improvement methodologies, techniques and principles and support the development of an improvement focused culture within key stakeholder groups.
  • Provide input and influence the Lean Six Sigma approach to build a strong culture of data driven decision making.
  • Promote the valuation of benefits through favourable KPI movement and the business-related financial impacts.
  • Support an active learning environment with the aim of enhancing capabilities and ways of working.

Skills & Qualifications

  • University bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 10 + years of professional experience using improvement methods e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Shingo model etc.
  • Background in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or engineering environments within a large global organization.
  • Pharmaceutical, Automotive, or cost oriented company experience is an advantage.
  • Experience developing, delivering training and certification and practical application in the use of Lean, Six Sigma or more improvement methodologies (Agile, Design Thinking, TPM, Shingo etc.).
  • Practical experience of leading/managing complex global projects.
  • Influencing others through change with no direct line management accountability.
  • Strong data-based problem solving and decision-making including knowledge of statistical software e.g., Minitab, JMP etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English. Additional EU languages are a plus.
