Overview

Description

As Global Operational Excellence Manager you will :

The Global Operational Excellence Manager acts as an internal subject matter expert for global sites and functions, advising, educating, and driving transformation activities for our global Operations teams. This role supports the transformation of Galderma towards a mature continuous improvement / problem-solving organization by upskilling fundamentals, problem-solving techniques, and tiered accountability throughout the network. The manager will lead and support critical complex global projects and activities across sites, regions, and functional teams, ensuring value is defined and recognized across the end-to-end value stream.

The role reports to Global Head Operational excellence

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an internal subject matter expert for global sites and functions, advising, educating, and driving transformation, business process re-engineering, activities.
  • Develop and implement global Galderma operational standards
  • Lead improvement initiatives, working with key stakeholders to shape, manage, implement, and sustain improvement
  • Support key stakeholders across the end-to-end value stream to assess the flow of value from suppliers to customers and identify targeted improvement opportunities.
  • Build improvement capability focused on delivering value to our customers in the most productive way by teaching, coaching, mentoring, and supporting employees and teams to develop their operational excellence skills
  • Promote the use of Lean Six Sigma and other relevant improvement methodologies, techniques, and principles, and support the development of an improvement-focused culture within key stakeholder groups. Act as influencer for all topics related to OpEx across the Galderma network.
  • Drive the roll-out and adoption of the Lean Six Sigma approach to build a strong culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Promote the valuation of benefits through favourable KPI movement and business-related financial impacts.
  • Promote effective and efficient knowledge management processes, internal and external best practice sharing, and drive rapid adoption across teams globally.
  • Support an active learning environment with the aim of enhancing capabilities and ways of working.
Skills & Qualifications
  • University bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 12 + years of professional experience using improvement methods. E.g., Lean, Six sigma, Agile, Shingo model etc
  • Background in manufacturing, supply chain, and / or engineering environments within a large global organization. Pharmaceutical, automotive, or cost-oriented company experience is an advantage.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt with several years of hands-on practical application required.
  • Experience in the design and execution of production and management systems, and leading / managing complex global projects.
  • Experience developing, delivering training, and certification in the use of Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies (Agile, Design Thinking, TPM, Shingo, etc.).
  • Practical experience of leading / managing complex global projects
  • Influencing others through change with no direct line management accountability
  • Strong data driven business process analysis, problem-solving and decision-making skills across complex end-to-end supply chains. Including knowledge of statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Innovative thinker and enthusiast for new digital solutions to existing problems and opportunities.
  • Familiarity with digital / automation tools e.g. RPA, process mining and awareness of Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and supply chain digitalization.
  • Good knowledge and application of change management methodologies. (knowledge of frameworks like Kotters 8 step, ADKAR etc)
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization across cultural boundaries
  • Excellent facilitation skills to design and run improvement workshops and training sessions across varying levels of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English. Additional EU languages are a plus.
