What you’ll be doing

General Summary / Objectives :

The Global Mobility Business & Systems Specialist will assess, design, and implement technology solutions that solve business problems and promote the growth of Hitachi’s Global Mobility capabilities.

This role involves engaging with stakeholders, working as the Business & Systems Integrator throughout the full lifecycle of solution development to ensure successful business outcomes. It also includes monitoring service delivery to prevent system disruptions and ensure continuous service.

The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in technology solutions and global mobility operations, providing guidance across the enterprise to ensure value and innovation in all aspects of Global Mobility within Hitachi Group Companies.

Key internal relationships include Global Mobility CoE, Shared Service organizations, HR Digital, Finance, Administration, Travel, Local HR, Regional HQs, and other relevant groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Consult with business and mobility stakeholders to determine requirements and impacts.
  • Support the design and development of mobility systems aligned with Hitachi’s global strategy.
  • Specify inputs and outputs to meet user needs.
  • Create specifications, diagrams, and flowcharts for technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ensure system efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and financial feasibility using various analysis techniques.
  • Oversee system implementation, configuration, testing, and validation.
  • Manage and prioritize business requirements, ensuring good project governance.
  • Align mobility systems with business practices and company values.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigations, and incorporate risk management protocols.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors for system configuration and maintenance.
  • Work independently and as part of teams to deliver project and operational outcomes.

What you bring to the team

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in assessing, designing, and supporting complex applications, preferably in large or multinational companies.
  • Strong experience with application administration, deployment, and configuration in enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of business requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.
  • Excellent skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and translating them into various project documents.
  • Experience guiding testing activities.
  • Knowledge of global mobility processes, including tax reporting and data privacy regulations.
  • Experience with global mobility vendors is desirable.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfort with transformation activities in complex, matrixed global settings.
  • Self-motivation and adaptability in uncertain environments.
  • Experience working with diverse global teams.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to solve common problems.
  • Good negotiation, analytical, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on harmony.
  • Flexible working hours and availability for after-hours commitments.

Education and other requirements :

  • Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or 7 years of HRIS experience.
  • Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Workday, Assignment Pro, Middleware, Microsoft Office, SAP.
  • Established network within Hitachi is desirable.

Physical Demands :

Typical office work, including long periods of sitting and extensive computer use.
