Job Description:
The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager / Sr Manager is responsible for leading the HSE global team and defining and executing the HSE strategy for the company. This role involves implementing environmental health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and analyzing products, processes, and facilities to prevent injuries, property loss, and environmental impact.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the HSE strategy for the company.
- Manage the global HSE team.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.
- Improve the management of health, safety, and environment continuously.
- Disseminate information and documentation related to health, safety, and environment legislation.
- Promote safety culture across all company levels.
- Prepare and check documentation to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Draft risk assessments, emergency, and evacuation plans for group companies.
- Update legal and regulatory documentation regularly.
- Identify prevention and protection measures.
- Conduct shop floor audits to ensure regulatory compliance and proper employee behavior.
- Organize health, safety, and environmental training for employees.
- Collaborate with external consultants for training and investigations.
- Identify non-compliance issues and manage corrective actions.
- Coordinate mandatory training courses.
- Work with medical professionals for workplace health examinations.
- Verify compliance during the design of new stores or premises.
- Coordinate with authorities on insurance and incident claims.
- Define KPIs for HSE performance.
- Analyze indicators such as accidents and absenteeism.
- Develop procedures and manuals for health, safety, and environmental improvements.
- Support foreign operations in compliance monitoring and best practices.
- Prepare management reports on HSE performance and compliance.
- Implement ergonomic analyses where necessary.
- Maintain relations with official bodies and manage third-party HSE companies.
- Participate in ESG actions related to HSE.
Job Requirements:
- Engineering degree or related bachelor’s with a Master in “Prevención en Riesgos Laborales” (mandatory). Additional courses in Ergonomics, Safety, or Health are desirable.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar industry and global environment (mandatory).
- Knowledge of HSE regulations in Spain (mandatory); experience in Italy, UK, Israel, Turkey, US is valuable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in chemical plants with toxic components is valuable.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional and cross-cultural environments (mandatory).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with team leadership experience and ability to prepare and present reports.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
