Job summary

Verdalia Bioenergy in Madrid seeks an Accounting & Reporting Director to own the full record-to-report cycle across Spain, Italy and the UK, including IFRS consolidation, statutory accounts and external audits. Reporting to the CFO, you will build scalable processes and lead a multi-country finance team.

This role demands a degree in accounting/finance, 10+ years of experience, IFRS-EU expertise, NetSuite proficiency, and fluency in Spanish and English with Italian a bonus; it combines a

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 10+ years experience in accounting or reporting.
• 5+ years leading group accounting in a multi-entity, multi-country group.
• Experience with IFRS-EU consolidation and local GAAP (Spanish PGC, Italian OIC).
• Audit coordination with Big 4 or equivalent.
• Proven track record of fast, reliable monthly close.
• Experience leading teams of 8+ people.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close end to end across Spain, Italy and the UK.
• Lead the Group IFRS-EU consolidation and UK IFRS group accounts; drive NetSuite consolidation.
• Deliver statutory accounts under local requirements; liaison with external auditors.
• Own accounting policies including IFRS 16, intercompany, grants and impairment.
• Lead Finance Operations and Tax teams on compliance and KPIs.
• Embed controls and automate close processes.
• Build and develop the team, including outsourced partners.
