Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Data Governance Manager to assess and advance data governance across its International Business Group (IBG). The role spans multiple countries and focuses on improving data quality, ownership, transparency, compliance, and responsible data use.

The position involves mapping capabilities, identifying gaps, and creating a practical roadmap, while coordinating policies, standards, and governance councils with in-country teams to drive adoption and strong data governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data management, statistics, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years in data governance or data management and 2+ years in matrix management.
• Fluent English language skills and strong governance knowledge.
• Experience across multiple countries and regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess data governance maturity across IBG countries and units.
• Develop and maintain a roadmap to improve governance capabilities.
• Coordinate governance councils, policies, standards, and decision tracking.
• Define data ownership, stewardship, and data glossary standards.
• Oversee data quality rules, monitoring, remediation, and closure tracking.
• Support metadata, lineage, and data catalog initiatives with tech teams.
• Manage governance controls around access, privacy, retention, and ethics.
• Drive change management, training, and adoption with in-country teams.
• Provide leadership to cross-functional and local resources.
