As a GL Accountant, you should be able to perform the following under general direction and minimal supervision, in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations, ASP policies, procedures, and guidelines:
- Preparation of US GAAP and local statutory financial statements for the assigned legal entities. The candidate must have experience with GAAP to Stat adjustments, supporting entity FS audits, replying to auditor queries, providing support, and aligning with timelines and due dates.
- Monthly closing process including but not limited to:
- Standard and non-standard monthly journal postings
- Intercompany invoices and reconciliation of month-end balances with regions
- Month-end accruals preparation and posting
- Prepayments and deferred costs entries preparation
- General knowledge of Fixed Assets and inventory processes
- Standard and non-standard journal entries during the month and at month-end
- Analysis of numbers trends, investigation of variances, and identification of issues and missing entries
- Control and maintenance of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews with management and auditors, including GL reconciliations in Blackline and resolution of aged items
- Preparation of interim financial statements and ad hoc statistical surveys for assigned entities
- Payroll journal entries and bookings, with an understanding of payroll accounting and collaboration with payroll teams for information sourcing and variance explanations
- Driving process efficiencies and improvements, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and GAAP requirements
- Ad hoc duties as required
- Communicating business-related issues or opportunities to management
- Advanced proficiency in SAP (Financial Module) and Excel
- Interest in AI
- You will succeed if you are:
- Familiar with internal and external audits, able to understand queries, seek advice, work with deadlines and targets
- Experienced with standard processes, compliance, and SOX requirements
- Knowledgeable about VAT mechanisms, EU and non-EU transactions, and VAT compliance processes
- Capable of managing workload and pressure during peak activity periods
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of experience in a GL accounting role
- Familiarity with statutory accounting, financial statement preparation, and audit processes
- Experience with SAP and Excel
- Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Experience with PowerBI, Python, and AI is a plus
