SEK International School busca un profesor de Historia y Geografía para el programa MYP, que comenzará en agosto de 2025. La misión incluye guiar a los estudiantes en la comprensión de las interacciones entre la gente, los lugares y el desarrollo histórico, promoviendo un pensamiento crítico y una conciencia intercultural. Se requiere un título relevante y experiencia docente, preferiblemente en programas IB.

Formación

• Título en Historia o Geografía requerido.
• Experiencia docente preferiblemente en programas IB.
• Dominio del inglés a nivel nativo; se valorará el español y el catalán.

Responsabilidades

• Desarrollar e implementar planes de enseñanza para la materia.
• Proporcionar apoyo e información a los estudiantes.
• Participar en reuniones del departamento.

Descripción del empleo

SEK International School Catalunya needs to incorporate a Geography & History Teacher MYP for 27 of August 2025.

Mission :

To guide students to explore the interactions between people, places, environments, and historical developments, encouraging them to understand how past events and geographic contexts shape present-day societies and global challenges. The mission is to cultivate critical thinking, intercultural awareness, and a deep sense of temporal and spatial perspective, empowering students to make informed, ethical decisions and actively engage with local and global issues.

Functions :

Attend department meetings and participate in collaborative planning sessions.

Develop and implement teaching plans for the subject, and other areas within the department.

Provide individualized support and feedback to students to promote growth and address diverse learning needs.

Take part in standardizing assessment tasks.

Contribute to curriculum research and improvement.

Stay updated on the IB program guides taught.

Engage with parents to communicate students’ progress and address any academic or personal development concerns.

Requirements :

• Degree in History or Geography
• A degree in Humanities, Social Sciences could also be acceptable, especially if the coursework includes strong components of history.
• Teaching experience, preferably in one of the IB programmes (MYP and / or DP) in Humanities
• English native speaker or native speaker level.Speaking Spanish and Catalan will be valued.
• Microsoft Office user

Experience with other educational platforms to enhance classroom dynamics and promote such tools with the team will be appreciated.
