Biobest Spain & Portugal , both subsidiaries of the Biobest division, are a main supplier of biocontrol solutions for the horticultural industry in Spain & Portugal. The main office and warehouse is based in Almeria, Spain .

We’re currently looking for a dynamic General Manager to lead our team of 30 employees in Spain and Portugal. As the general manager of Biobest Spain & Portugal, you’ll be at the forefront of sustainable solutions in horticulture in both countries. Join us in making a positive impact on the environment while shaping the future of the horticultural industry.

Your mission

As General Manager Biobest Spain & Portugal you have the overall responsibility for managing the company. As an affiliate of Biobest, you report to Biobest’s regional Sales Director and work closely with members of the Biobest management team in their respective areas of responsibility.

Your responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance market presence and increase sales.
  • Lead and motivate your team into successfully reaching these goals.
  • Commercialize our products (beneficials, pollinators, biopesticides, etc.) within the Spanish and Portuguese territory, expanding into new crops and application fields.
  • Lead the sales and supply chain teams to optimize distribution and logistics.
  • Prepare annual P&L and budgets aligned with Biobest’s strategic objectives.
  • Draft the yearly OGAM in alignment with Biobest Group’s strategic objectives and targets. Cascade these objectives down to the local team.
  • Provide timely monthly reports on sales performance, operational status, market trends, and other key metrics using the MCRS template.
  • Ensure timely availability of products through accurate market forecasting, stock management and intercompany purchases.
  • Uphold company policies and compliance with Spanish and Portuguese laws across all operational aspects.
  • Ensure all products (beneficials, biopesticides etc.) have the necessary local registrations.

What do we expect from you?

  • You are passionate about sustainable agriculture. If you have a background in Agro-science, Bio-engineering or other relevant discipline, that would be a plus.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on mentality.
  • You have experience in leading and stimulating a team by coaching, delegating, and creating trust within the work environment.
  • You demonstrate sound strategic thinking and the ability to identify, prioritize and

resolve key project and partnership issues.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, engage, focus, negotiate, and resolve.
  • You have knowledge of accounting and some experience with ERP systems (SAP).
  • Willing to travel without the territory to visit customers, colleagues, trade shows etc.
  • You are fluent in English.
