GDS Modellica serves clients in 36 countries, including banks, insurers, retailers, and credit card issuers.

Responsibilities

We seek a highly committed and responsible individual to join our Technical Operations Department within a fast-growing international software and consultancy company, primarily serving clients in Spain and Europe. Our mission-critical software products are installed at various credit institutions, and our clients require assistance with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

The candidate will be part of the Global Technical Support Group and report to the EMEA & LAC Technical Support Manager based in Madrid. Key duties include:

  • Managing and maintaining the organization’s Cloud infrastructure and local office systems.
  • Providing system administration and support for Windows and Linux environments.
  • Ensuring server and application security and performance compliance.
  • Collaborating with the Delivery team on technical project support, including:

• Hardware and software requirements and infrastructure design.

• Installation and configuration of GDS Modellica applications on client servers and in cloud environments (SaaS).

• Conducting technical training for clients.

• Acting as a liaison between the Delivery team and Product Development for best practices.

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Supporting the Sales team with technical input for proposals and presentations.
  • Providing first-class post-delivery support through the Technical Support Help Desk.

The role is based in Madrid, primarily at our premises, with occasional visits to client sites.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, the candidate must have:

  • Fluent English (spoken and written); additional languages and international experience are a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator or Support Technician, preferably in a multicultural environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of documented experience with Amazon AWS.
  • A degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in a science-related field.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under high pressure.
  • Advanced networking skills, including configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration.
  • Experience with monitoring and administration tools like Nagios, Amazon CloudWatch, and Puppet.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Advanced knowledge of Application Servers, SOAP/XML, REST/JSON, WebServices/APIs, SQL query writing and optimization.
  • Proficiency with Office Suite, MongoDB, Spark/Hadoop, Trend Micro, and OTRS (preferred).
