With the launch of Gaudi Bike Tours, travellers can visit ALL of Gaudi’s UNESCO-listed buildings in Barcelona in a single day for the first time. Yes their Gaudi Highlights Tour pulls no punches and offers the most complete look at the genius architect in the city.
Lovers of the outdoors, flora and greenery can travel even further and cycle up to Park Guell on the Gaudi Legacy E-bike Tour, which also stops by La Sagrada Familia and the two most famous mansions.
Whichever you choose, you’ll learn the fascinating story of Gaudi’s obsession with Nature, God and mythology, plus many more details about his life and works.
This first stop of this tour is the stunning fountain at Parc de la Ciutadella, one of Gaudi’s first ever commissions and a great place to talk about the architect’s early life, before you’re back on your bike to visit the epic Sagrada Familia. Here your expert guide will help you unpack many of the curious symbols and other ‘easter eggs’ hidden in the richly decorated façades of this extraordinary basilica that is still under construction.
Almost as mind-boggling, are Gaudi’s twin mansions on the Passeig de Gracia. The curvaceous Casa Mila was built without a single straight line, while the fantastical Casa Batllo is a coral-coloured beauty whose balconies are said to be inspired by shark skulls.
Next you’ll visit Casa Vicens, one of the architect’s UNESCO-listed early works, where his love of colour, and Arabic influences are highly evident.
The tour includes a relaxing refreshment break.
The 4-hour Gaudi Highlights Tour costs €39 per person, or €49 if you prefer to do it on an electric bike.
The tour departs from Port Olimpic and you can book it directly on their website.

Entrance to the park is included with your tour ticket and you’ll have nearly an hour to explore the gardens and the Monumental Zone, with its much-photographed trencadis benches, Hypostyle room and Dragon staircase (cue selfie with the multi-hued lizard!).
After Park Guell it’s time to check out the twin mansions of Casa Mila and Casa Batllo on the Passeig de Gracia, and then take a refreshing rooftop break on a luxury hotel terrace to enjoy a well-earned drink and beautiful vistas.
The Gaudi Legacy Tour makes its final stop at La Sagrada Familia, the world-famous basilica that constitutes the architect’s crowning glory.
The cost of the tour starts from €79 per person, and that includes Electric Bike rental (with free helmet if you wish) and lock, tickets to Park Guell, rooftop break and your local tour guide.
The Gaudi Legacy Tour departs every Friday at 10am, or you can book a private tour any day of the week. Reservations via the Gaudi Bike Tours website.
