We are seeking a talented Fully or Partially Qualified European Patent Attorney for our headquarters in Girona, Spain.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assessing innovative R&D developments and digital solutions in collaboration with technical and scientific staff and business units, providing IP advisory counsel.
  • Preparing patent landscape and FTO analyses for EU and global R&D pipelines.
  • Performing state-of-the-art and patentability search reports.
  • Maintaining internal IP databases.
  • Managing global patent prosecution.
  • Participating in and handling opposition/appeal proceedings and observations before the EPO.
  • Providing validity opinions and infringement advice to R&D and business units.
  • Establishing confidentiality measures to protect IP.
  • Providing technical support for business development.

Candidate Requirements:

  • EQE (European Qualifying Examination) fully or partly passed (mandatory).
  • Solid industrial background, such as a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related disciplines, including electronic engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence, etc.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, with expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, patentability reports, and FTO opinions.
  • Experience in medical devices or industrial products is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English and Spanish; French and German are advantageous.
  • Strong technical, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze large data volumes and suggest actionable decisions.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills to handle high R&D workloads efficiently.
