La Escuela de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Navarra ofrece una posición de doctorado totalmente financiada en San Sebastián, enfocándose en el desarrollo de tecnologías de comunicación y computación 6G para sistemas ciberfísicos críticos. El candidato elegido estará involucrado en la investigación innovadora en un entorno internacional, teniendo acceso a entrenamiento práctico y oportunidades para colaborar con universidades e institutos de investigación de renombre.

Formación

  • Título de MSc requerido antes del 31 de agosto de 2025.
  • Experiencia en sistemas inalámbricos o testbeds experimentales.
  • Conocimiento de estándares 5G y proyectos de código abierto es preferido.

  • Diseñar tecnologías de comunicación y computación 6G con características conscientes del servicio.

Tecnun-Escuela de Ingeniería, perteneciente a la Universidad de Navarra, se propone contribuir a la formación profesional, científica y humana de los futuros ingenieros. Desde su creación, en la primavera de 1961, mantiene un equilibrio entre la docencia, la investigación y el servicio a la sociedad, haciendo que estas actividades se complementen entre sí.

Actualmente dispone de dos campus: la sede más antigua, ubicada en el campus universitario del Bº de Ibaeta, está integrada por los edificios de laboratorios, el edificio docente y de representación concluido en 1989, y un edificio multiuso, levantado en 1996. La otra sede se encuentra en el Parque Tecnológico de Miramón e integra las aulas y laboratorios de investigación de las áreas de Electricidad, Electrónica y Comunicaciones.

About The Position

A fully funded PhD position is available at the Tecnun School of Engineering, University of Navarra, San Sebastián, Spain. The selected candidate will join the Wireless Instrument Group (WIN) at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong research background to contribute to the development of service-aware 6G communication and computing technologies for Critical Cyber-Physical Systems (CCPS), including applications such as industrial automation and smart grids. To address the diverse and stringent requirements of CCPS, integrated 6G communication and computing schemes with service-aware characteristics should be developed, focusing on end-to-end system performance against key performance indicators.

The selected candidate will work on the following key tasks:

  • Designing service-aware 6G communication and computing technologies for CCPS.
  • Developing experimental testbeds for performance validation.

Tecnun, the Engineering School of the University of Navarra, offers a 3-year doctoral contract at the Technological Campus in San Sebastián (Spain).

Requisitos

Qualification Requirements

  • An MSc degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related fields. Date of degree: before Aug. 31, 2025
  • Language: English (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)
  • Software:
  • Proficiency in programming and Linux systems.
  • Strong background in telecommunications, networking, and/or computing.
  • Experiences in building wireless systems or experimental testbeds.
  • Familiarity with 5G standards and/or open-source projects, e.g. OpenAirInterface and srsRAN, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of critical cyber-physical systems is considered as an advantage.

The candidate must meet the requirements for admission to the doctoral program at the Tecnun School of Engineering.
