We’re looking for an energetic and creative colleague to join our communications team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and marketing, eager to learn, and capable of developing campaign concepts that make our brand stand out on social media. You will have the opportunity to build a career with a community-focused brand that touches every aspect of modern technology.

Our social media channels serve as a bridge between our product creators and users, engaging audiences in the millions. These platforms allow us to foster conversations, gather feedback, and involve communities worldwide—from #opensource to Kubernetes, from product launches to industry discussions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, enjoys learning, and is eager to collaborate on campaigns. They are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with problem-solving, automation, and measurement. To succeed, you should be driven, proactive, and team-oriented.

This role reports to the Director of Communications and is based remotely within the EMEA region.

What your day will look like

  • Develop, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms.
  • Monitor and report on social media metrics and campaign performance.
  • Support audience growth and engagement efforts.
  • Create compelling messaging and assets aligned with brand personality.
  • Execute A / B and multivariate growth tests.
  • Engage with communities and moderate platforms.
  • Coordinate campaigns on product launches, webinars, and industry announcements.
  • Package and promote Canonical’s product offerings and educational content.

What we are looking for in you

  • Understanding of social media and communication best practices.
  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social) and web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in at least four platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit).
  • Analytical skills and content performance awareness.
  • Knowledge of educational content funnels and video marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
