Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Technical Office Director / Manager to join our team for a construction project in Texas, United States.

  • Estimated duration of the position: 2 years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him / her continuity.

Summary: Lead and oversee all technical aspects of renewable energy projects within our organization. As a key member of the leadership team, the Technical Director will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintaining the highest standards in engineering, design, and project management. This role requires a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies and strong leadership skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for renewable energy projects, including solar and energy storage solutions.
  • Oversee the design, engineering, and implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to achieve project objectives and timelines.
  • Evaluate and select advanced renewable energy technologies and solutions to enhance project performance and cost efficiency.
  • Lead feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical due diligence for new project opportunities. Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for technical teams.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between the company and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project methodologies and renewable energy solutions.
  • Mentor and develop the technical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 40 hours weekly

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Technical Director / Manager in the construction of Photovoltaic Plants of 70 MW size.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and energy policies.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex renewable energy projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience presenting to executives and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes, environmental assessments, and grid interconnection requirements.
