Job summary

Blu is seeking an autonomous HR Business Partner / People Consultant to deliver end-to-end HR services across Sweden, Germany, and the UK from Barcelona with a hybrid work model.

You will drive payroll readiness, labor law advisory, and employee relations with regional leaders, coordinating with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliant, scalable HR operations across multiple countries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HRBP/People Ops experience in consulting, professional services, or tech environments.
• Fluency in German and English; Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full-lifecycle HR operations across onboarding to offboarding, contracts, and benefits.
• Coordinate payroll inputs with regional providers and legal advisors.
• Provide labor law advisory focusing on German law, plus UK and Swedish frameworks.
• Support managers and country leads on performance, employee relations, and conflict resolution across London, Munich, and Stockholm.
• Handle HR requests through ticketing portal with data accuracy and timely responses.
• Support HRIS migration from Workday to HiBob with hands-on functional involvement.
• Assist in rolling out regional L&D and culture initiatives.
• Occasional travel for on-site workshops in Europe.

AND WHAT'S MY ROLE IN THIS?

As an independent HR Business Partner / People Consultant, you will deliver full-lifecycle operational and strategic HR support across Sweden, Germany, and the UK, collaborating closely with the Head of Business Partnering.

• Deliver Full-Lifecycle Operations: Oversee core employee lifecycle milestones (onboarding to offboarding), contract documentation, and regional benefits administration.
• Drive Payroll Readiness: Coordinate end-to-end regional payroll inputs and liaise directly with external local payroll providers and legal advisors.
• Provide Labor Law Advisory: Serve as the go-to subject matter expert on regional compliance, with a deep focus on German labor law alongside Swedish and UK frameworks.
• People Relations & Advisory: Support people managers and country leads on performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution across London, Munich, and Stockholm.
• Service Desk & Administration: Resolve incoming HR requests and inquiries through the ticketing portal, maintaining clean data and efficient turnaround times.
• HRIS Migration Support: Provide hands-on functional support for the planned HRIS transition from Workday to HiBob.
• L&D and Culture Projects: Assist in rolling out internal training sessions and regional cultural integration initiatives.
• Occasional Travel: Join occasional key on-site workshops and team gatherings in London, Stockholm, or Munich (client-funded travel).

OK, AND WHAT DO YOU NEED?

• HR Track Record: 3+ years of experience as an HRBP, People Operations Specialist, or HR Consultant, ideally within consulting, professional services, or high-growth international tech environments.
• Compliance Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of German labor law and statutory requirements, with the ability to navigate UK and Swedish legal frameworks.
• Languages: Professional fluency in German and English (written and verbal); Swedish language skills are a strong plus.
• Systems & Tools: Hands-on operational experience with HRIS platforms—specifically Workday and/or HiBob.
• Operational Competence: Proven background in multi-country payroll preparation, HR admin, and contract lifecycle workflows.
• Contractor Status: Registered as a freelance professional / autónomo in Spain (or operating via an established EU business entity) with the ability to issue compliant B2B invoices.
• Availability: Based in or around Barcelona for periodic hybrid touchpoints, with flexibility for scheduled European travel.
