FPGA Engineer - International Opportunity

About the Role: We are seeking an FPGA Engineer with at least 3 years of experience to join a project focused on modernizing a legacy system from 1999. This role involves translating obsolete AHDL code into VHDL and adapting it to modern FPGA architectures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and understand the existing AHDL-based design.
  2. Translate and implement the design in VHDL, ensuring functionality is preserved.
  3. Work with Zynq FPGAs from Xilinx.
  4. Identify and define technical requirements for the new implementation.
  5. Conduct basic verification to validate the new design.
  6. Communicate effectively with the client to clarify requirements (good soft skills are a plus).

Tools & Technologies: Vivado, Zynq, VHDL, ModelSim, SystemVerilog.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in FPGA design.
  • Familiarity with modern processor architectures and FPGA development tools.
  • Basic knowledge of verification methodologies; detailed verification is not a primary focus.
  • Ability to work with minimal initial requirements and help define specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Good communication skills to interact with the client and identify requirements.
  • Experience working with legacy system migration projects.
