Formación

Galtea is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Founding Machine Learning Engineer to drive the development of next-generation AI Safety features within our innovative platform. This role involves leading efforts to translate cutting-edge LLM evaluation research into a user-centric, commercial product. The position is hands-on, encompassing both research and product development.

What you’ll be doing

As Founding Machine Learning Engineer, you will take ownership of Galtea’s core AI services and be responsible for ensuring its success. You will build the features from the ground up to respond to the needs of the users, take ownership of the application scaffolding to ensure the implementation of software development good practices concerning the contributions of the rest of the team. As the engineer who is the one of the main responsible for the product, you will have the key role in determining the future of the platform, reporting directly to the CTO. You will have the opportunity and the challenge to address open questions in an AI-first sector.

Main responsibilities :

• Ownership of the core AI services of Galtea; developing new features, and expanding the functionality of these core AI services
• Selecting the most appropriate models and approaches for AI product development, taking advantage of retrieval systems and agentic workflows but not being limited to them.
• Fine-tuning LLMs by choosing the best architectures for the task at hand, implementing new architectures whenever required
• Collaborating with Barcelona Supercomputing Center to develop cutting edge AI research and products through leveraging the computational resources of the Mare Nostrum 5 cluster
• Evaluation of the quality and security of the developed AI services
• Designing and executing the technical roadmap and architecture to build a scalable AI platform
• Mentoring the junior members of the team

About you

• 5+ years of experience in building and deploying machine learning models, with proven experience in Generative AI.
• Expertise in Python and ML frameworks, and deep learning architectures for generative models.
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning) and Generative AI techniques.
• Industry experience with LLMs (fine-tuning, optimising, performance evaluation)
• Experience with knowledge graphs and vector databases
• Expertise in MLOps / LLMOps / DevOps including deploying AI solutions at scale.
• Experience in scaling generative models and deploying them in production environments.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Languages :

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
