Job summary

PLD Space in Elche, Spain, invites an experienced Flight Software Manager to lead the software team across launch vehicles and future programs. You will own the technical roadmap, drive architectures, and coordinate with Systems, Avionics, GNC, Ground Segment, and Operations to ensure safe, reliable flight software lifecycle execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software, flight software, avionics software, or safety-critical aerospace systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing technical projects.
• Experience with DO-178C, ECSS, NASA Software Engineering standards.
• Proficiency in Git, CI/CD, and automated testing; English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Flight Software team, defining priorities, objectives, workloads, and execution strategies.
• Define and maintain the technical roadmap, architecture vision, and development strategy.
• Coordinate with Systems, Avionics, GNC, Ground Segment, Operations, and Verification teams.
• Lead software certification, qualification, and compliance activities for aerospace standards.
• Manage external software suppliers and specialized partners to meet program objectives.
• Oversee SIL/HIL testing, integration, and full vehicle testing campaigns.
