Octagon Group in Madrid, Spain, is seeking an Embedded Software Lead to own the software architecture behind a space propulsion system. You will lead the full software lifecycle across flight-critical firmware, laboratory automation and EGSE, and mentor a team of embedded engineers.

You will drive modernization from 8-bit firmware to 32-bit RTOS, develop verification strategies, HIL testing and CI/CD, and partner with hardware engineers to deliver software that enables next-generation

Formación

• 7+ years’ embedded software experience, including technical leadership/mentoring.
• Strong C and C++ experience.
• Hands-on bare-metal and RTOS experience, ideally FreeRTOS.
• Strong knowledge of MCUs and low-level protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and PWM.
• Python for automation and testing.
• Git and CI/CD experience.
• Ability to read PCB schematics.

Responsabilidades

• Own the embedded software architecture from bare-metal through to RTOS.
• Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers
• Drive the migration from legacy 8-bit firmware to a modern 32-bit RTOS architecture
• Develop verification strategies, HIL testing and CI/CD for embedded systems
• Work closely with hardware engineers on propulsion and laboratory systems
• Help shape software that will ultimately support real spaceflight
