Sener Aerospace and Defence is currently looking for Firmware Engineers (Senior and Junior) to join our Avionics and Flight System Division at our Tres Cantos work center (Madrid).

We are a pioneering engineering company in the design of satellite technology and equipment for space exploration. In defence, we design and produce equipment and systems, including unmanned systems. Our passion for precision has made us a trusted partner of leading space agencies, government agencies, and companies.

What you will do:

1. Lead the definition and implementation of FW solutions: architectures, FW components, interfaces, requirements, test resources, pin-out.
2. Preparation of FPGA specifications.
3. Testing and debugging the developed solutions.
4. Understand HW/SW platform and define SW/HW, SW/FW interfaces.
5. Break down the defined solution into manageable FW components and tasks based on project constraints.
6. Participate in proposal preparations.

What we expect from you:

• Engineering Degree.
• 2-6 years of experience in FPGA development (space or automotive markets preferred); more experienced candidates are welcome.
• Experience in all stages of FW lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, validation, and integration.
• Experience in defining and implementing FW architectures.
• Ability to analyze user requirements and provide guidance on HW, SW, and FW solutions.
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical approaches within small project teams.
• Excellent oral and written English skills.

Additional valued skills:

• Knowledge of development environments (Xilinx, Microsemi, Questa).
• Experience in VHDL programming.
• Experience with Simulink and Matlab.
• Knowledge of C++, C#, Python, Go, or distributed OS.
• Experience in data/signal processing solutions.
• Experience in space, automotive, or defence industries.
