Our organization seeks a Banking Business Consultant to join our team in Madrid, specializing in the accounting and valuation of financial instruments. This role is part of our Corporate & Investment Banking practice.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of derivatives valuation (swaps, options, etc.) and understanding of fixed income markets. Compliance with IFRS 9, 13, and 16 is also essential.

Main responsibilities include ensuring accurate hedge accounting for derivatives and correct accounting treatment for financial assets and liabilities. The candidate must also work on cash-flow and settlement prices validation throughout each stage of product implementation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for participation in risk management and validation projects, as well as analysis and testing of IT products related to financial products booking and management.

A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (Business Management, Finance, Law, Economics, Accounting, Engineering) is required. A Master's degree in Accounting, Business Consulting, or Quantitative Finance is highly desirable. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) are also advantageous.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is necessary, with other languages being beneficial. Proficiency with financial IT (Software : Microsoft Office – advanced level in Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with financial software / tools such as SAP, Bloomberg, or other valuation platforms) is also required.
