Luxe Talent, an international recruitment and training consultancy specialized in Fashion, Luxury, Retail, and FMCG, is seeking a talented Financial Controller with Italian language skills to join a retail company based in Madrid.

We work with various firms in the Luxury, Premium, and High Premium sectors across Europe, with offices in London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris, Milan, and Berlin.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support across accounting functions such as billing, tax forms, and reporting.
• Develop internal controls and policies to ensure regulatory and industry compliance.
• Assist in preparing financial statements according to official guidelines.
• Manage journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliations for monthly or yearly closings.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare for annual audits.
• Generate reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Review accounting data to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Utilize IT systems to streamline accounting processes.
• Monitor and reconcile bank statements.
• Handle tax payments and manage accounts payable.
• Process invoices and communicate with suppliers and partners.
• Supervise a team of local controllers across Southern European countries.
• Require 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Possess a BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as an assistant controller or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulatory standards.
• Excellent understanding of accounting and financial processes, including budgeting, closing, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Italian, English, and Spanish; additional languages like French or Portuguese are a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is advantageous.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Strong motivation to contribute to a dynamic finance team.
• Positive attitude, self-motivation, and teamwork skills are essential for a positive work environment.
