Placements24 consultant presents an opportunity with a prominent public sector entity in Queenstown, Eastern Cape for an Internal Auditor. The role emphasizes evaluating internal controls, risk management, and governance, with a hybrid work setup for on-site audits and remote analysis and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in audit, solid knowledge of IIA standards and COSO, and strong Excel skills, with integrity and independent engagement management as core traits.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CA(SA) or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in internal or external audit, focusing on financial audits.
• Strong knowledge of auditing principles and standards (IIA) and COSO framework.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, execute, and report on financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Assess risks and identify mitigation strategies.
• Review financial records, transactions, and systems for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct fieldwork including interviews, documentation review, and testing procedures.
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings and management action plans.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, accounting standards and best practices.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the annual audit plan.
• Collaborate with management to strengthen internal control environment.
