Placements24 is seeking a Junior Auditor to join the Internal Audit team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role offers hands-on exposure to planning, executing, and reporting audits under supervision, with a strong emphasis on developing core audit skills.

You will assist senior auditors, perform tests, gather evidence, and document findings while maintaining high integrity and attention to detail. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and proficiency in Excel are required, with internship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Strong interest in internal audit and risk management within the financial services industry.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and internal control concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and documentation.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and investigative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently manage assigned tasks.
• Prior internship or experience in audit or accounting is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of internal audit engagements as per the annual audit plan.
• Perform audit tests, gather evidence, and document findings in accordance with audit standards.
• Review financial records, operational processes, and internal controls for compliance and efficiency.
• Identify control weaknesses and operational inefficiencies, documenting them clearly.
• Prepare audit working papers and draft sections of audit reports under supervision.
• Communicate effectively with auditees to gather information and clarify findings.
• Stay updated on auditing best practices, internal control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in follow-up procedures to assess the implementation of management's action plans.
• Support the internal audit team in ad-hoc projects and investigations as needed.
