Slaps is seeking a hands-on Finance & Accounting Specialist to manage the day-to-day accounting of our Spanish entity and provide finance support for the US and UK offices. You will collaborate with management, production and project teams in Barcelona, ensuring accurate financial information and compliant filings.

This role offers exposure to an international group, with focus on building a well-structured finance function and robust controls across entities.

Formación

• Three+ years in hands-on accounting or finance operations within an agency environment.
• Experience maintaining accounting records for a Spanish company.
• Strong accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation experience.
• Knowledge of Spanish IVA and IRPF withholding requirements.
• Experience liaising with a gestoría or external accounting adviser.
• Fluent Spanish and good verbal and written communication in English.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain Spanish entity accounting records and provide day-to-day finance support for the group's US and UK operations.
• Manage accounts payable, including supplier onboarding, invoice processing and preparing payment runs.
• Raise customer invoices, allocate receipts and follow up on overdue balances.
• Complete bank, credit card, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Support the monthly close, including accruals, prepayments and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Work with production teams to record project income and costs accurately and track budgets, commitments and supplier payments.
• Maintain visibility over cash balances, expected receipts and upcoming payments.
• Liaise with the Spanish gestoría and the group's US and UK accounting advisers, preparing and reconciling filings.
• Support intercompany accounting, monthly reconciliations and financial reporting across the group.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management.
• Help improve finance systems, processes and internal controls across the group.

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Finance & Accounting Specialist to manage the day-to-day finance operations of our Spanish entity and support our wider international group. We are a growing creative agency operating through entities in Spain, the USA and the UK. Spain is our most established entity and will be the role's primary focus. You will also provide finance support for our US and UK operations, helping to maintain consistent processes and accurate financial information across the group. You will work closely with our management, production and project teams in Barcelona, as well as our senior leadership and external accounting advisers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within an international business and play an important role in building a well-organised group finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the Spanish entity and provide day-to-day finance support for the group's US and UK operations.
• Manage accounts payable, including supplier onboarding, invoice processing and preparing payment runs.
• Raise customer invoices, allocate receipts and follow up on overdue balances.
• Complete bank, credit card, supplier and customer reconciliations.
• Support the monthly close, including accruals, prepayments and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Work with production teams to record project income and costs accurately and track budgets, commitments and supplier payments.

• Support intercompany accounting, monthly reconciliations and financial reporting across the group.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information to the senior management team.
• Help improve finance systems, processes and internal controls across the group.
• External advisers will remain responsible for formal tax, payroll and statutory submissions in each country. This role will ensure the underlying accounting information is accurate, complete and provided on time.

About you

• At least three years' experience in a hands-on accounting, bookkeeping or finance operations role within the agency space.
• Experience maintaining the accounting records of a Spanish company.
• Strong accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation experience.
• Good working knowledge of Spanish accounting, invoicing, IVA and IRPF withholding requirements.
• Experience liaising with a gestoría or external accounting adviser.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting software.
• Fluent Spanish, with good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Able to take ownership and work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and time-sensitive requests.
• A confident communicator, comfortable following up on missing information, approvals and overdue payments.

Desirable experience

• Experience supporting more than one company or working within an international environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience in a creative agency, production company, media business or other project-based environment.
• Experience tracking income and costs by client and project.
• Experience improving finance systems and processes.
