Michael Page seeks a Senior Accounting Specialist US to join its Finance team in Madrid. The candidate will manage US accounting processes, ensure US GAAP compliance, and drive accurate financial reporting for the US business.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting, fluent English, and previous experience with a US company or US legal entity. Reporting to the VP Finance Operations, you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations and Finance.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with strong US GAAP and financial reporting background.
• Experience in AP/AR, reconciliations, and tax compliance is required.
• High level of English mandatory; prior US company experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead AP/AR activities and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Assist month-end and year-end close with accurate reporting and documentation.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management packs for US operations.
• Support US tax compliance and collaborate with external advisors.

A fast-growing international technology company is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist US to join its Finance team in Madrid. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Accounting, with a strong background in US GAAP accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, AP/AR and tax compliance. A high level of English is mandatory, as is previous experience working for a US company or managing the accounting of a US legal entity.

Reporting to the VP Finance Operations, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following functions:

Financial Operations

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Review and process employee expense reports and payment requests.
• Support daily accounting activities related to the US business operations.
• Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation.

Accounting & Reconciliations

• Perform accounting entries and ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and management reporting packages.
• Provide accurate financial data to support decision-making.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation required by management and auditors.
• Collaborate with different stakeholders to improve reporting processes and efficiency.

Tax Compliance

• Support the preparation and submission of tax-related documentation for the US market.
• Ensure compliance with applicable US tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams on tax matters.
• Support indirect tax processes using platforms such as Avalara.

Audit & Internal Controls

• Assist in the preparation of external and internal audit documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of financial controls.
• Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the finance function.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Work with ERP systems, primarily NetSuite, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes.
• Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with teams across Sales, Operations, Business Intelligence and Finance.
• Provide financial support and accounting guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

• Salary range: €45,000 - €50,000 Fixed Salary.
