Job summary

Cainiao Group in Madrid is seeking a Finance Associate to support daily financial review, invoice verification, and expense analysis for Spain and France operations.

You will assist with month-end closing, journal entries, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations, while bridging local operations with the central finance team. Fluency in English required; knowledge of Spanish and/or French is a plus. ERP familiarity and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related major.
• 1–3 years of finance or accounting experience; logistics/supply chain experience preferred.
• Fluent English; Spanish and/or French knowledge is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Financial review of invoices, expenses, and internal controls for Spain and France operations.
• Track warehouse operating costs and support cost allocation and expense recharge.
• Assist with month-end/year-end closing, including journal entries and accruals.
• Coordinate with local operations and central finance; support audit and tax compliance.
• Provide additional finance and operational support, including process improvements.

Job description

• Financial Review: Conduct daily financial reviews including invoice verification, expense examination, and internal control compliance checks, covering Spain and France operations.
• Warehouse Finance Support: Track warehouse operating costs, assist with inventory-related financial reviews, and support cost allocation and expense recharge processes.
• Month-end/Year-end Closing: Assist with period-end closing activities, including journal entry posting, accruals, prepaid expense processing, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Act as a bridge between local operations teams and the central finance department, supporting audit, tax filing, and compliance work.
• Other Support: Provide additional finance and operational support as business needs evolve, including process optimization and system implementation.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree or above; Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related major preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years of finance or accounting experience; candidates with logistics, supply chain, or multinational company experience are preferred.
• Language: Fluent English (speaking, listening, reading, writing); Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus.
• Skills: Proficient in Excel; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Professional Knowledge: Understanding of basic accounting principles and VAT/tax compliance processes.
