Role Overview

The Finance Manager is a key member of the Operations team at RMIT Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of RMIT University, responsible for ensuring compliance with financial, taxation, and governance requirements. The role manages daily accounting and reporting, presents quarterly financial reports to the RMIT Europe Board, manages payroll, and oversees EU-funded project finances with support from Finance Officers. The role requires technical expertise, a proactive attitude, adaptability, and strong communication skills.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in financial and tax management, including statutory reporting within a global group
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with knowledge of Spanish accounting standards
• Integrity, confidentiality, and experience with EU-funded research project management
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills in both Spanish and English
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Workday is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial and management reports for stakeholders, ensuring compliance and providing regulatory advice
• Manage month-end processes, including accruals, postings, payments, billing, and reconciliations
• Prepare budgets, financial modeling, and scenario analysis for various projects
• Oversee financial management of EU-funded research projects, including reporting to the European Commission and audits
• Develop and improve financial processes and procedures at RMIT Europe
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
