Ornua is an Irish dairy co-operative that markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland’s dairy processors, and Irish dairy farmers. Ornua is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products with annual sales of €3.4 billion. Headquartered in Dublin, Ornua employs approximately 2,800 staff across 10 global business units, including 13 production facilities. Its core purpose is to build profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products.

The group comprises two divisions : Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods handles marketing and sales of consumer brands like Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto, and BEO milk powders, with production in Ireland, Germany, and the UK, and sales teams across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Ornua Ingredients manages procurement, sales of dairy ingredients worldwide, and risk management strategies, supported by facilities in the UK, Spain, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria, with regional teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Preparation of Month End Trial Balance
  • Supervision of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
  • Balance sheet management and monthly accrual review
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and taxation regulations locally and internationally
  • Risk Management : Oversee all aspects of finance risk management within the OIE Espana division
  • Maintain an efficient financial control environment and monitor internal controls
  • Drive continuous internal control improvements and ensure best practices in line with audit recommendations
  • Financial Performance Management
  • Deliver periodic financial reports to measure performance against budgets and targets
  • Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet commentary with detailed analysis
  • Cost management : Collaborate with budget owners to monitor and proactively manage costs
  • Define and implement KPIs for effective business management
  • Lead the annual budget process for OIE Espana
  • Operational Finance
  • Oversee operational finance activities and variance investigations
  • Support team members and set clear goals with performance monitoring
  • Delegate work effectively and foster team development through coaching and training
  • Encourage open communication and process improvements within the team
  • Report on team performance and participate in hiring and evaluations
  • Contribute to the management team of OIE Espana to ensure organizational efficiency
  • Business Partnering : Provide high-quality financial insights to support commercial and operational decision-making
  • Talent Management and Succession Planning : Develop growth plans for finance team members to foster internal talent development

Key Requirements

  • University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, or similar
  • Master’s in Finance is a plus
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance management with proven control expertise
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
  • Strong P&L and COGS understanding
  • Track record in team development and talent assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
