Job summary

ZEST Hotel & Resort Ibiza is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join the Executive Leadership Team. You will lead all aspects of the resort's finance function—from pre-opening through ongoing operations—ensuring robust governance and profitability across luxury hospitality.

You will build the finance operation from the ground up, implement systems and controls, and act as a commercial partner to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Experience as Director of Finance or senior finance leader in luxury hotels.
• Experience with hotel pre-openings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for the resort from pre-opening through operations.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and long-term financial strategies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and board-level reporting.

About the Role

Lead the financial strategy behind one of Ibiza's most exciting luxury resort openings.

As we prepare for opening, we are looking for an experienced on property Director of Finance to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the financial success of this landmark resort.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Finance, with a dotted line to the General Manager, you will lead all aspects of the resort's finance function—from pre-opening through to ongoing operations.

This is a rare opportunity to build a finance operation from the ground up, implement systems and controls, develop high-performing teams and act as a true commercial partner to the leadership team.

You will play a critical role in ensuring robust financial governance, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving sustainable profitability across all areas of the business. From luxury accommodation and destination dining to wellness, leisure, and events, you will help ensure every part of the operation delivers strong financial results while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for the resort and build, develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and long-term financial strategies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and board-level reporting for ownership, investors and corporate stakeholders.
• Drive EBITDA performance through strategic commercial partnership with operational and depaprtmental leaders.
• Monitor labour, payroll, food & beverage, purchasing, inventory, expenses and departmental costs.
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, financial policies, compliance procedures and governance frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish accounting, taxation and statutory requirements and company policies.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, insurance, auditors and professional advisers.
• Lead all pre-opening finance activities including systems implementation, supplier set-up, banking arrangements and process development.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, operational efficiency and business performance.
• Partner with department heads to optimize revenue growth, cost management, and investment decisions.

About You

We're looking for a commercially focused finance leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Director of Finance, Financial Controller or senior finance leader within luxury hotels.
• Advanced proficiency in hotel finance systems, ERP platforms, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Experience within four or five-star hotels, preferably within luxury or internationally branded hospitality businesses.
• Resort experience, ideally within Ibiza or another seasonal Mediterranean destination.
• Strong commercial awareness across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Leisure and Events operations.
• Experience of hotel pre-openings (highly desirable).
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
• Strong leadership with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in English (Spanish would be an advantage).
