As a growing global company with operations in the UK & Spain, we are seeking a Finance and HR Generalist to manage and streamline our financial and human resource operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across both areas.

Job Overview

We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Finance and HR Generalist to oversee financial operations, payroll, and employee management. This role can be full-time or part-time hours (25-30 hours) and will provide crucial support in managing company finances while also ensuring that HR processes, from onboarding to employee relations, are handled effectively and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Management

  1. Manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, expenses, and reconciliations.
  2. Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cash flow reports.
  3. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions.
  4. Manage payroll, including salary adjustments, bonuses, and tax withholdings.
  5. Handle VAT filings, social security payments and ensure compliance with Spanish tax regulations.
  6. Support budgeting and forecasting processes and provide financial insights to senior leadership.
  7. Manage company bank accounts and monitor cash flow.

HR Operations

  1. Oversee onboarding and off-boarding processes, including contract preparation with external firms and filing employee documentation.
  2. Manage employee benefits, including holiday entitlement, sick leave, and pensions.
  3. Ensure compliance with Spanish labour laws and employment regulations.
  4. Respond to employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and company policies.
  5. Manage and maintain employee records, including performance reviews and contract updates.
  6. Support recruitment by coordinating interviews and managing job postings.
  7. Process and manage Modelo 145 forms and handle IRPF withholdings.
  8. Provide support for employee relations and conflict resolution.

Process Improvement

  1. Identify opportunities to improve financial and HR processes for greater efficiency.
  2. Ensure accurate alignment between financial and HR systems (e.g., Xero, MS 365 systems, HR platforms).
  3. Implement best practices for financial and human resource management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a combined finance and HR role.
  3. Strong knowledge of Spanish tax laws and labour regulations.
  4. Proficiency in financial and HR software (e.g., Xero, Personio).
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  7. Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
