A leading company seeks a Field Services Engineer responsible for the installation and maintenance of complex Optical Genome Mapping systems. This role includes ensuring customer satisfaction through technical support and collaboration with regional and global teams, along with administrative responsibilities.

Formación

  • At least 3 years supporting capital equipment in research or clinical settings.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a plus.

Location : Remote, ideally based in Paris (France) or Madrid (Spain) Metropolitan Areas.

Summary : The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Bionano’s complex Optical Genome Mapping systems. The FSE plays a crucial role in providing top-tier support to an assigned customer base and actively contributes to interdepartmental teams for ongoing success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Lead the installation of Bionano OGM devices, from pre-sales technical consulting to ensuring system’s qualification at customer’s site. (25%)
  2. Sustain the installed base with preventive maintenance and updates at customer sites. (30%)
  3. Diagnose and resolve complex failure modes remotely in collaboration with Customer Solution specialists. (15%)
  4. Maintain regular communication with customers and internal teams to ensure resolution and satisfaction. (10%)
  5. Coordinate with regional and global teams including FSE, FAS, Sales, Development, and Technical Support. (10%)
  6. Complete administrative tasks such as providing installation/maintenance reports (Salesforce), parts management, and expense reporting. (5%)
  7. Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)

Required Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience in alignment and troubleshooting of imaging systems or relevant research/clinical devices.
  • Strong communication and writing skills for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.

Preferred Skills and Abilities :

  • Support experience with capital equipment in research labs, especially in microscopy imaging, laser technology, or biotech systems troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift 30kg.

Education, Certifications, Licenses :

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Biosciences, or relevant military electronics/optical imaging experience.
  • At least 3 years supporting capital equipment in research or clinical settings.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is a plus.

Travel Requirements :

  • Up to 60% travel expected, including international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Seniority level :

  • Mid-Senior level.
