A leading company in biotechnology is seeking a Field Service Engineer to manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced Optical Genome Mapping systems. This role involves extensive customer interaction, coordinating with technical teams, and traveling up to 60%. Ideal candidates will have an engineering background and 3+ years of experience in supporting capital equipment in research or clinical environments.

Formación

  • 3+ years supporting capital equipment in research or clinical settings.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of French and/or Spanish is preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Diagnose and resolve complex failure modes remotely.

Location : Remote, ideally based in Paris (France) or Madrid (Spain) Metropolitan Areas.

Summary : The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Bionano’s complex Optical Genome Mapping systems. The FSE plays a crucial role in providing top-tier support to an assigned customer base and actively contributes to interdepartmental teams for ongoing success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Lead the installation of Bionano OGM devices, from pre-sales technical consulting to ensuring system’s qualification at customer’s site. (25%)
  2. Sustain the installed base with preventive maintenance and updates at customer sites. (30%)
  3. Diagnose and resolve complex failure modes remotely in collaboration with Customer Solutions specialists. (15%)
  4. Maintain regular and frequent communication with customers and internal partners to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction. (10%)
  5. Coordinate with regional and global FSE, FAS, Sales, Development, and Technical Support teams to achieve success. (10%)
  6. Complete administrative tasks such as providing timely installation/maintenance reports (using Salesforce), parts ordering/returns, and expense reporting. (5%)
  7. Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)

Required Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience in alignment and troubleshooting of imaging systems or relevant research/clinical devices.
  • Professional communication and writing skills, with effective interaction with customers and internal teams.

Preferred Skills and Abilities :

  • Experience supporting capital equipment in research labs, with expertise in areas such as :
  • Microscopy imaging
  • LASER technology
  • Complex biotech systems troubleshooting
  • Ability to lift 30kg

Education, Certifications, Licenses :

  • Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Biosciences, or relevant military experience with electronics/optical imaging background.
  • 3+ years supporting capital equipment in research or clinical settings.
  • Fluent in English, with strong knowledge of French and/or Spanish.

Travel Requirements :

  • Up to 60% travel expected, including continental and international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
