Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression, and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Field Service Specialist position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO, with over 400 employees locally and over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer to conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on Fike explosion suppression and isolation systems at customer locations as required. This is a home-based role, ideally located in Barcelona, primarily covering Spain and mainland Europe.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, troubleshooting problems and offering timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering exceptional service.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, issues, resolutions, and interactions.
  • Travel to customer sites as required, often on short notice, with flexibility in travel schedule.
  • Adhere to Fike SHEQ & regulatory regimes.

Job Qualifications

  • Personable, able to integrate with a small, dynamic, professional team.
  • Capable of managing own diary and customer base, including travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work independently across various environments.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Ability to work emergency cover at short notice and be on an emergency call rota.
  • Calm, diplomatic personality, capable of working under pressure to get equipment operational quickly.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in other pan-European regions as required.
  • Level 6 Higher Certificate (or equivalent) in a suitable engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in Windows, Gmail, Word, Excel.
  • Multi-skilled background in electrical, mechanical, controls, and instrumentation.
