Evident Europe GmbH is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair high-end microscopy systems at customer sites across Spain and Portugal. You will provide expert technical support, train customers, and drive service quality while traveling extensively.

The role requires 2-5+ years in field service, a relevant engineering degree, and fluency in Spanish with good English.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Physics/Mechatronics or related field.
• 2-5+ years of field service experience, preferably with confocal microscopy or analytical instruments.
• Strong electronics and electromechanical systems knowledge; imaging systems and optics.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; troubleshoot hardware and software.
• Fluent Spanish and good English; Portuguese is a plus; willing to travel up to 70-80%.

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-end microscopy systems (e.g. confocal microscopes) at customer sites. The role ensures optimal system performance and customer satisfaction through timely service delivery, technical expertise, and proactive support within the area of Spain and Portugal.

Tasks

• Install and commission advanced microscopy systems at customer sites
• Perform preventive maintenance and system calibrations
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and software-related issues
• Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement corrective actions
• Execute upgrades and modifications to existing systems
• Provide technical support and training to customers (scientists, lab technicians, engineers)
• Act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reports
• Manage service schedules, parts inventory, and travel planning
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, technical support, sales) to resolve issues
• Support remote diagnostics and digital service tools
• Identify recurring issues and suggest product/service improvements
• Participate in technical training to stay current with new technologies
• Share knowledge and best practices within the service organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Applied Physics or Mechatronics or related field
• 2-5+ years of experience in field service, preferably with:
• Confocal microscopy
• Analytical instruments or lab equipment
• Strong knowledge of:
• Electronics and electromechanical systems
• Imaging systems and optics
• Software System set up
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software systems
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and customer-facing abilities
• Ability to work independently in remote environments
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70-80%)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work in laboratory and cleanroom environments
• Fluent Spanish and good English required, Portuguese is a plus.
