Company from the Oil & Gas industry is looking for a Field Joint Coating Technician to join their offshore project currently.

Role Description

Mission : Ensure the working status of the pipeline main line equipment during the project, including preparation, installation, and startup. The Welding Equipment Technician will work under the supervision of the Welding Foreman and the chief engineer / chief electrician, remaining the technical reference for all pipeline production equipment. Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures and standards.

Tasks :

• Install WPE on board a Saipem vessel or in a prefabrication yard according to the program / SOW defined by the PWEC.
• Provide technical assistance for all welding process equipment installed onboard the vessel, including diagnosing, maintenance, and repairs.
• Monitor pipeline process equipment, consumables, and spare parts consumption.
• Ensure pipeline production equipment certification with the cooperation of the vessel QA / QC engineer.
• Report weekly to Welding supervisors onboard the WEC / PWEC on the status of pipeline production equipment, spare parts consumption, and PO status.
• Responsibility may include various equipment such as Welding Process Equipment (WPE), AGMAW and AGTAW systems, manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, submerged arc welding equipment, and special / internal equipment like plasma welding systems, internal cameras, purging systems, and internal grinding systems.
• Manage ancillary equipment including welding gas distribution, cabling, and cutting equipment.

Requirements :

• Ensure coating equipment operational status during all project phases and proper maintenance per instructions.
• Knowledge of electrical hazards, accident prevention, PPE, and Lockout / Tagout procedures.
• Ability to inspect, maintain, and analyze electrical systems and breakdowns, providing solutions.
• Troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical).

Location : Worldwide

Position : Field Joint Coating Technician

Contract start : To be confirmed, with a typical start date aligned with employee departure to the work location, expected around 31.12.2025 (renewable).

Work / leave rotation : 35 / 35 days (paid / unpaid leave).

Working hours : 12 hours / day, 7 days / week.

Flights : Prepaid economy class tickets at the beginning and end of each rotation cycle.
