As a Field Construction Engineer, you will be tasked with:
- Supporting Optimization through the collection of radio performance data, troubleshooting, and isolating external interference.
- Supporting the Deployment team on new 5G radio and edge infrastructure projects.
- Deploying and troubleshooting networking and 5G equipment (CDU, USM, UPF) located in the region or cities of responsibility.
- Interfacing with Program Management and partners to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
- Coordinating with site and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of sites.
- Reporting project status and performance data to program management.
- Working with Operational and network design teams to implement solutions that reduce incidents, improve change management, decrease manual work, and enhance network visibility.
- Providing initial operational engineering support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems, and implement resolutions across deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport, and other network systems nationwide.
- Assessing vendor deployment and test strategies for new releases and supporting their implementation.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES :
- Strong understanding of Microwave Technology, Field Installation, and Design & Planning tools (Pathloss 4.0, Pathloss 5.0).
- High-level knowledge of Nokia, Aviat, and other Microwave Systems & configurations.
- Strong understanding of ANSI / ASSE A10.48 Safety Standards.
- Knowledge of Motorola R56 Quality Standards.
- Strong understanding of ANSI / TIA-222 G and H Telecom Industry Infrastructure Standards.
- Strong understanding of ANSI / TIA-322 Telecom Industry Infrastructure Standards.
- Good understanding of Antenna and Antenna Arrays concepts.
- Ability to review RF data sheets and extraction information for construction drawings.
- Ability to visit existing and future job sites to gather information for construction drawings.
- Ability to understand new technology concepts easily.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation.
- Ability to organize and lead meetings with customers.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate well and work independently.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project; AutoCAD is a plus.
- Public Safety and Federal Experience is desired.
- Ability to oversee multiple project sites, manage subcontractors, and field work with a focus on quality.
- Strong customer focus, communication skills, and leadership experience. Relevant certifications are required.
