Our technology empowers scientists to visualize and analyze biological structures at the nanoscale, advancing fields such as Life Science, Biophysics, Extracellular Vesicles (EVs), Microbiology, Neuroscience, Cell Biology, and Genomics.

Abbelight is headquartered in Paris, France, with a commercial presence in selected global markets in EMEA, North America, and APAC. We are growing and seeking exceptional talent to join our mission.

We are looking for an outstanding Field Applications Scientist, Global, based in any major city in France, Spain, Sweden, or Denmark, preferably near an international airport and main train stations. The position requires traveling up to 50% worldwide.

The main mission of the FAS is to drive market adoption and ensure customer success with Abbelight’s platforms. This individual will provide support for our instrumentation, consumables, and software, leveraging microscopy and nanoscopy experience to match customer research goals with our platform’s capabilities, conduct training, project design, troubleshooting, and enhance customer satisfaction. They will also relay feedback to R&D, Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to optimize user experience.

The FAS will report to the Sales Director, EMEA and APAC.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Deliver exceptional pre- and post-sales applications support; educate customers on technology use and assist with microscopy/nanoscopy projects to maximize research success.
  2. Understand customer research requirements to help design, implement, analyze, and interpret experiments, building scientific credibility.
  3. Support sales efforts to identify, develop, and close high-value opportunities, meeting/exceeding revenue targets for hardware and consumables.
  4. Deliver technical seminars and presentations on scientific research areas, applications, and products related to Abbelight’s technology.
  5. Conduct remote, in-house, and on-site demonstrations.
  6. Coordinate with Sales, R&D, Product Management, and Marketing to implement strategies balancing customer and internal needs.
  7. Build relationships with early access targets, KOLs, partners, and stakeholders.
  8. Create Applications Notes and White Papers in collaboration with R&D, Product Management, and Marketing.
  9. Support customer publications.
  10. Act as an internal advocate by communicating feedback and market insights across departments.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field with 2+ years’ research or industrial experience.
  • Practical research experience in life sciences.
  • In-depth knowledge of Single-Molecule Localization Microscopy.
  • Significant industry experience as a Field Application Scientist.
  • Strong communication skills in English, capable of technical presentations and customer interactions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous field applications support experience.
  • Experience with demonstration, installation, operation, troubleshooting of high-throughput instruments.
  • Skills in experimental design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
