Formación

  • Hands-on experience with GC, LC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, UHR-QTOF.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  • Valid driving license with ability to travel within Spain and Western Europe.

The Applications Specialist will be part of the Madrid-based Application Development Laboratory, with a key focus on supporting method development, technical demonstrations, customer training, and pre-sales application support, particularly in the Food and Environmental markets.

We are currently looking for a Field Application Scientist (m / f / d) for a temporary contract until January 2026.

Responsibilities

Analytical Method Development & Application Lab Work

  • Develop and validate new analytical methods (GC, LC, GC-MS, LC-MS / MS, UHR-QTOF), with a strong focus on chromatography-free workflows.
  • Analyze customer samples and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Draft application notes, scientific posters, and contribute to the preparation of technical documentation.
  • Participate in internal beta testing of new Bruker platforms and solutions.

Customer Support & Training

  • Provide advanced user training at Bruker facilities or on-site at customer locations.
  • Support method implementation and instrument qualification at customer sites.
  • Offer remote technical assistance (phone, email, remote sessions) for operational and analytical troubleshooting.
  • Ensure high-quality after-sales support for analytical questions and optimization requests.

Technical Pre-Sales Support & Demonstrations

  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to provide scientific and technical support during the sales cycle.
  • Prepare and perform instrument demonstrations using customer-relevant samples and applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documents for tenders, demo reports, and application-specific presentations.
  • Attend trade shows, scientific events, and customer meetings as a technical expert.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Contribute to the training of Service Engineers and Sales staff on new Bruker solutions and applications.
  • Ensure smooth coordination with the Service, Sales, and Product Management teams for project continuity.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and usage of company tools in compliance with Bruker’s operational procedures.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • University degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Solid hands-on experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation (GC, LC, LC-MS / MS, GC-MS, UHR-QTOF).
  • Experience with instrument control software, method setup, and data analysis tools is essential.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written) – both are mandatory.
  • Other European languages (e.g., Portuguese, German, French) are a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driving license and ability to travel frequently within Spain and occasionally in Western Europe.
  • Experience with laboratory quality standards (e.g., ENAC, ISO, ASTM, UNE) would be a plus.
