On the Move invites international artists to apply for the Hotel ACTUAL contemporary art fair in Logroño, Spain, from January 2-5, 2026. Selected artists will receive support including accommodation, production grants, and technical assistance for their artworks, offering a unique opportunity to showcase at a transformed hotel space.

Festival ACTUAL: Contemporary Art Fair Hotel ACTUAL 2026 Call for Artists (Spain)

The Directorate-General for Culture of the Government of La Rioja, in collaboration with the Federation of Enterprises of La Rioja (FER), and coordinated by Pako Campo artHOUSE, is calling for applications from international artists for the small-scale contemporary art fair Hotel ACTUAL from 2 to 5 January 2026 in Logroño, Spain.

The rooms of a hotel will be transformed into exhibition spaces, each one intervened by selected artists. The initiative, part of the ACTUAL 2026 Festival programme, aims to open a space for the art market in La Rioja by offering a platform where artistic creation, innovation, and dialogue with the public converge.

A total of 12 rooms will be reserved, with two rooms per artist, resulting in six participating artists:

• 1 resident artist (appointed by the Directorate-General for Culture)
• 1 international artist
• 2 artists from Spain
• 1 artist from La Rioja

Each selected artist will receive the following resources and support from the organisation:

• One hotel room assigned to the artist for the artistic intervention during the event
• Individual accommodation
• Production grant of 800 EUR
• Travel support, when the artist’s usual place of residence is more than 120 km from Logroño
• Per diem allowance during the event
• Assistance with transportation of artworks
• Technical support during installation and dismantling, as well as for receiving and handling artworks shipments
• Advice and support in lighting and adapting the exhibition space

All artwork sales will be managed directly by the artists, with no fees retained by the organisation. In addition, the organisation may consider acquiring artworks based on artistic interest and available budget.
